KOMPACT HISTORY
Kompact's journey began with the premiere of their inaugural show, 'Catch Me I'm Falling...', at the Northbrook Theatre in September 2009. The overwhelming reception prompted additional dates, leading to a return to the Northbrook Theatre for more performances in May 2010. Subsequently, 'To Look Beyond' debuted at Concorde 2 in Brighton as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival the following year.
In November 2010, Kompact embraced a new challenge with 'Raw', an alternative musical theatre cabaret at the newly refurbished Brighton Ballrooms. This venture allowed them to showcase standalone material by contemporary composers. The success of 'Raw' led to 'Changes' at the Brighton Ballrooms in February 2011 and their London debut at the Kings Head in Islington with 'Edited' in the summer of 2011.
In September 2011, Kompact introduced their cabaret show to The Battersea Barge in Vauxhall marking the beginning of a successful series of performances there over the next few years. Despite expanding their reach, Kompact remained dedicated to their Sussex audience, producing five new cabaret shows annually between October 2011 and 2016, including appearances at the Brighton Fringe Festival.
While the cabaret evenings were cherished, Kompact desired to revisit their roots of condensing full musicals into bite-sized chunks. In January 2013, they returned to the Northbrook Theatre with 'Take a Shot', which received resounding praise and sold out shows.
Throughout 2013, Kompact continued their exploration of contemporary composers with 'Uncomplicated' at the Brighton Fringe Festival, and in 2014, they diversified by launching an events entertainment company and offering specialist masterclasses and workshops. Their events garnered acclaim, entertaining audiences at various functions, including birthdays, weddings, and notable events like the Picture Perfect Winter Ball at the Grand Hotel Brighton.
The trajectory of Kompact's cabaret continued to soar with performances at The Leicester Square Theatre Lounge in London in 2014. They also expanded their network by collaborating with new musical theatre composers, culminating in cabaret productions in venues around London and along the South coast. Their commitment to innovation and collaboration led them to venues like "Above the Arts"in Leicester Square with "Reasons."
